Make time for your hobbies, because they can't make time for you...

This week has been like every other week since I started school in August HECTIC. Up until yesterday my lack of free time really put a damper on me. I love riding my bicycle and snapping photos of how I see the world. Yesterday was no exception Devon and I went riding, even though my knee is a bit banged up. Hence the reason there is pictures of the single speed it's my rainy day and sore knee bike. lol We rode our normal path threw downtown Norfolk passing the Wisconsin and The Tide Stadium, also coming across a deserted church and some other "vintage" looking things, my action photos have matured as well as I experimented with underwater photos as well. The fall semester is coming to a finish quite fast and my professors are adding to the work load. Will I be fine? Of course but just busy. I have rode my bike every day this week as per usual protocol. I catch myself on a regular basis discussing fixed gear bikes and I always end up getting defensive, people perception of a fixed gear and it's rider is absolutely bonkers. I can not speak for everyone but I can speak for myself, I don't ride fixed so I can pull my "cool card" or "hip card" I ride because it's the best feeling in the world to me. It's very hard to put into words but traveling 30mph using nothing more than your body; It's breath taking knowing your the gas, brake everything it's the only time I fully feel in control of a situation. One of my favorite cycling quotes is from over 100 years ago.

Put the pedal to the pavement, get out there and ride 1 mile, 10 miles or daily commute don't fall to the lazy society we must strive. Enjoy the photos I'm very happy with this update they came out quite amazing. PS I'm in the middle of creating a new watermark STAY TUNED.

Amazing week and it's just Thursday.

The optimistic bug must of bit me within the past month, because life is just amazing i have absolutely zero complaints about anything. My week started off  by Ashley baking an amazing "vegan" pumpkin bread on Sunday of course i volunteered to be the guinea pig "boy am i glad" she is such a kick ass cook i scarfed down a huge slice before it cooled down. (I had never baked bread before and had no idea that it takes so long! I was a little worried since I was a bread-baking newbie and also new at baking with gas. Then my other problem was I didn't have bread pan! Being the improviser that I am, I used an old pan that is molded to make giant cupcake cakes. Again, I used Ener-G brand egg replacers and put in a little more than the recipe calls for. I'm so glad it came out delicious and that I didn't poison Coty!)

 Shortly after Ashley filled one of Jobies' toys with PREMIUM cat nip "that's what the price said"lol. What was in store was a frenzy Jobie he grew 7' tall and flipped, twirled, and snarled as he demolished the innocent toy. Of course he took it easy on us mainly because we control his catnip intake. 

This week i have been very aggressive with my cycling riding about 20-25miles daily with commuting and mashing with friends. The best thing about riding with Devon and Beck is there crazy "Devon more so" but it makes for great photos. There is nothing quite like spinning your legs out and pushing threw it. Each one of our rides we push harder, faster, longer "yes like Kanye West"lol If any dudes in the area want to mash just email me. Even though the fixed gear scene isn't very big here I'm not slowing down or switching to a free wheel no thank you.

Finally last night a friend invited us out to www.vbrg.com it's a indoor rock climbing gym. Once we got there Beck greeted us with a 5 page disclaimer lol and we were off. Ashley had a blast and so did i, after 1 hour i totally lost my grip. ( I had such an awesome time but boy am I sore today! My arms feel like noodles and when I go to open a drink it is almost like a re-enactment of someone trying to move a boulder! The colored tape on the rocks indicate the level of difficulty: pink/white are easy and from there it gets more difficult. By the time we left, I had used chalk all over my clothes and body that it looked like I had fallen into flour.) Are we going back? You bet your bottom dollar ASAP, and remember you can't fail if your too scared to ever try.

9 story parking garage on a Friday is always a good idea...

So there I sat Friday afternoon, slaving over my laptop doing homework and such. When, a friend of mine gave me a ring and want to ride I quickly accepted the invite. Once I headed out, charging down Colley I realized we would be in for a treat. By 2pm the wind was blowing over 20mph, did that stop us NO! The ride consisted of crazy people driving every which way, and some were a bit too close. lol Getting down to waterside was no easy task, but once we were there we continued to mash up each level until reaching the top the view... Amazing even the wind can't keep Devon from doing crazy shit. The ride was quite intense as are most of my rides. If you see me riding by don't be afraid to wave me down, I'm always down to talk bikes or just chill.

My bike is for sale hit me up for more info I'm asking $450 anyone around here can vouch it's legit.

1977 Schwinn New Commuter!

So there i sat Saturday night frantically searching Craigslist.org for a new commuter bicycle seeing that the weather is only going to get worse. Not only does it rain every other day in Norfolk, VA but it's as windy as the Wizard of OZ. There are many reasons i LOVE riding a bicycle and there are even more reasons why i LOVE my fixed gear BUT with crazy wind, and rain it's not feasible; As a commuter for me during winter. After looking threw 200 posts for single speeds i came across this stallion, he is a 1977 Schwinn 10 speed converted to a single speed and fully restored. The bike is super mint and exactly what i need, so after persuading Ashley "saying ROAD TRIP and she was down"we hit the road got some great photos, those are in my last post. I just wanted to share with everyone my new bike I highly enjoy it. So get out there and ride, have the wind to your back and the world in your hands. Enjoy
